Tarlatamab for treating limited-stage small-cell lung cancer

Tarlatamab is being developed for the treatment of limited-stage small-cell lung cancer (LS-SCLC). Small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) is a disease in which cancer cells form in the tissues of the lung. LS-SCLC means the cancer is limited to one side of the chest, usually in one lung, and may have spread to nearby lymph nodes on the same side. Symptoms include chest pain, a cough that does not go away or gets worse, trouble breathing and wheezing. Smoking is the biggest risk factor. LS-SCLC is a challenging disease to treat as treatments become ineffective or the cancer comes back in most patients suggesting a clinical need for more effective treatments. With only a few patients remaining disease-free long term, there is a clear need for more effective treatments to improve long-term patient outcomes.
