Survodutide for treating obesity

Survodutide is in development for the treatment of obesity. About one in four adults in the UK live with obesity, which can have many causes such as genetics, lack of physical exercise, poor diet or as a side effect of some prescribed medicines. Common problems resulting from obesity include breathlessness, difficulty walking and low self-esteem, as well as a higher risk of developing health conditions such as cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and various different types of cancer. Whilst physical exercise and a balanced diet remain the first recommendation for the treatment of obesity, for some individuals sustained weight reduction may require medicinal treatment in combination with lifestyle changes in order to effectively maintain weight loss.
