Sonrotoclax for treating relapsed or refractory mantle cell lymphoma

Sonrotoclax is in clinical development for the treatment of relapsed or refractory mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). MCL is a rare type of blood cancer that starts in certain white blood cells called B cells, which normally help fight infection. It can cause painless widespread tumours to form which result in problems within the lymphatic system (part of the immune and circulatory systems) or the organ where they are growing. Some people also experience weight loss, night sweats or fever as well as tumours. MCL can be difficult to treat because it often comes back after treatment (relapse) or doesn’t respond well to treatment (refractory). Once current treatments stop working, patients usually have more aggressive cancer and fewer treatment options available leading to high mortality rates.
