Sigvotatug vedotin for treating previously treated non-small-cell lung cancer

Sigvotatug vedotin is in development for the treatment of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who have had previously had treatment for their condition. NSCLC is one of the most common forms of lung cancer and a majority of patients will go on to require further treatment after their initial therapy. Symptoms of NSCLC can include persistent cough, recurring chest infections, unexplained breathlessness, coughing up blood, unexplained weight loss and tiredness. There are a number of factors that increase the risk of developing lung cancer including ageing, air pollution and exposure to certain chemicals, however smoking is the most common cause of lung cancers. The cancer continuing to grow or spread after chemotherapy treatment occurs in a majority of NSCLC cases, and there remains an unmet need for precision medicines that can be used to combat this following chemotherapy.
