Sacituzumab with pembrolizumab govitecan for previously untreated metastatic non-small cell lung cancer with PD-L1 tumour progression score ≥50%

Sacituzumab govitecan in combination with pembrolizumab is being developed for untreated non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) tumour proportion score (TPS) ≥50%. NSCLC accounts for 80-85% of lung cancers. Smoking tobacco is the cause of most lung cancers and the biggest risk factor. Metastatic cancer means it has spread from where it started to other parts of the body. PD-L1 is a protein that allows cancer cells hide from the immune system by turning off the cells that normally kill the cancer. Treatment for metastatic NSCLC is often aimed at reducing symptom severity and prolonging life expectancy. Therefore, there is a great unmet need to provide more effective therapeutic strategies to further improve outcome in patients with metastatic NSCLC.
