Riliprubart for chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy

Riliprubart is being developed for treatment of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) in adult patients after receiving standard of care therapies. CIPD is a neurological disorder characterised by progressive weakness and impaired sensory function in the legs and arms. It is caused by damage to the myelin sheath, the fatty covering that wraps around and protects nerve fibres. The disorder can occur at any age but is more common in young adults and is seen more frequently in males than females. The course of CIDP varies widely among individuals. Some may have a bout of CIDP followed by spontaneous recovery, while others may have many bouts with partial recovery in between relapses. However, some people do not get better with current treatments, which are costly, time-consuming and can come with serious health risks. There is therefore a need for more effective, safer and convenient treatment options.
