Olezarsen for treating severe hypertriglyceridaemia

Olezarsan is being developed for the treatment of severe hypertriglyceridaemia. Hypertriglyceridaemia is a common condition characterised by high levels of triglycerides, a type of fat, in the bloodstream. Individuals with severe hypertriglyceridemia have triglyceride levels much higher than the normal level. Severe hypertriglyceridaemia can lead to multiple serious conditions, including heart disease and sudden inflammation of the pancreas. Current treatment options are limited, and behavioural and lifestyle changes are often recommended.
