Odronextamab for treating follicular lymphoma

Odronextamab is currently in development for the treatment of relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma in adult patients. Follicular lymphoma is a common type of slow-growing (low-grade) non-Hodgkin lymphoma that mainly affects adults over 60 years. A relapsed follicular lymphoma is a follicular lymphoma that returns after an earlier treatment, while a refractory follicular lymphoma is a follicular lymphoma that does not respond well to an initial treatment. The most common symptoms of follicular lymphoma are painless swellings in the neck, armpit or groin regions. The causes of follicular lymphoma are mostly unknown. Chemoimmunotherapy with an anti-CD20 antibody (a protein that attacks specific proteins on the surface of cancer cells) is the basis of treatment for follicular lymphoma, yet patients will invariably relapse, and outcomes worsen after each successive relapse.
