Nivolumab with brentuximab vedotin for treating relapsed or refractory CD30+ classical Hodgkin lymphoma in people aged 5 years and older

Nivolumab with brentuximab vedotin is being developed for treating relapsed/refractory (R/R) CD30+ classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) after failure of first-line therapy in patients aged 5 years and older. This disease sub-type (cHL) makes up about two-thirds of Hodgkin lymphoma cases and is the most frequently occurring cancer in adolescents. Relapsed means that the disease has returned after responding to treatment and refractory means it no longer responds to a specific treatment. Symptoms of cHL can include swelling of the lymph nodes (part of the immune system), fever, abdominal pain and weight loss. Current standard treatment involves highly toxic chemotherapy, which is not well tolerated in the target age group.
