Nivolumab–relatlimab for untreated metastatic or unresectable melanoma

Nivolumab–relatlimab (Opdualag) is in clinical development for treating adults and adolescents aged 12 and over with metastatic or unresectable melanoma that has not been treated before. Melanoma is a skin cancer. Metastatic melanoma is when the cancer has spread other parts of the body, while unresectable melanoma means it cannot be surgically removed. Melanoma is considered the most dangerous form of skin cancer because it can grow quickly and spread to other parts of the body if not detected and treated early. It often starts as a change in an existing mole or as a new, unusual-looking growth on the skin. Factors associated with a higher risk of developing melanoma include fair skin, exposure to sunlight and other sources of ultraviolet energy, and a history of sunburn or moles.
