Lutetium (177Lu) vipivotide tetraxetan with standard of care for previously untreated or minimally treated metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer

Lutetium (177Lu) vipivotide tetraxetan is currently in clinical development for the treatment of adult male patients with metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC). This form of prostate cancer has spread beyond the prostate gland to other parts of the body but remains responsive to hormone therapy, which reduces testosterone levels to slow the cancer’s growth. Testosterone and similar hormones fuel the growth of this cancer, so treatments aim to block or reduce these hormones. People with mHSPC may experience symptoms such as bone pain, trouble urinating, fatigue, weight loss, swelling, or blood in the urine. However, symptoms can vary from person to person. Despite available treatment options, there remains an unmet need for more effective and targeted therapies to improve outcomes for patients with mHSPC.
