Hydrocortisone modified release for adrenal insufficiency

Hydrocortisone modified release hard capsules (MR-HC) with a delayed released coating is in clinical development for the treatment of adrenal deficiency (AI). AI is an endocrine disorder (hormone disorder) characterised by a decreased production of the hormones, cortisol and aldosterone. Symptoms of AI include fatigue and muscle weakness. Subtypes of AI are described as primary, secondary or tertiary depending on the underlying cause.
