Gefurulimab for generalised myasthenia gravis

Gefurulimab is currently in clinical development for adults with generalised myasthenia gravis (gMG). Myasthenia gravis is a rare, long-term autoimmune disorder that leads to weakness in the voluntary muscles, which worsens with repeated or sustained use. It can affect the eyes, speech, swallowing, mobility and respiratory function, which can be life-threatening. When symptoms progress, it is referred to as gMG. There is no cure for gMG, so current treatments manage and relieve symptoms only. Treatments are few and can take a long period to be effective, and often come with long-term, high-risk side effects that diminish quality of life.
