Dostarlimab for treating mismatch repair deficient relapse or advanced endometrial cancer

Dostarlimab is in clinical development for the first-line treatment of advanced or recurrent mismatch repair deficient (dMMR) and microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) endometrial cancer. Endometrial cancer is cancer of the lining of the womb. Advanced cancer is when the cancer has spread to other parts of the body; recurrent cancer means the cancer has come back after treatment. Usual treatment for primary advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer with dMMR or MSI-H is platinum-based chemotherapy or dostarlimab in combination with platinum-based chemotherapy. Prognosis of advanced/recurrent endometrial cancer with dMMR is poor with platinum-based chemotherapy alone and in combination with dostarlimab has many side effects. Therefore, there remains a need for additional treatment options to improve outcomes and quality of life for this patient population.
