Cosibelimab for treating metastatic or locally advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma

Cosibelimab is currently in development for the treatment of adults with metastatic or locally advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma who are not eligible for local treatments. Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, is the second most common type of skin cancer. Patients that are not eligible for localised treatments for cancer means that the cancer has progressed to the point it has spread around the body, therefore surgery or radiation is no longer possible. This means that these patients have few treatment options. The most common cause of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma is too much exposure to ultraviolet light from the sun or other sources.
