CM-AT for treating autism in children

CM-AT is in development for the treatment of core symptoms of autism in children. Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) represents a range of developmental disabilities that result in difficulties with social interaction and communication, difficulties in adapting to new situations as well as having repetitive behaviours and/or restricted interests. Many children with ASD have digestive problems and a lack of amino acids (the building blocks of proteins) that are necessary to digest protein. The cause of autism is unknown and can develop at a very young age or later in life. There are currently no approved medicines for the treatment of the core symptoms of autism.
