Cagrilintide-semaglutide for treating overweight and obesity

Cagrilintide-semaglutide is being developed as a treatment for overweight and obesity in adults. Overweight and obesity in adults are typically defined by a body mass index over 25 and 30, respectively. While this is commonly caused by excessive calorie intake, overweight and obesity are complex conditions with many causes, such as genetics. In the UK, about 25% of adults are living with obesity. For many people, lifestyle and behavioural changes alone may not help. There is a need for new treatment options that will allow obese or overweight patients to reach their individual treatment goals to improve their health.
