Acalabrutinib with immunochemotherapy for previously untreated non-germinal centre diffuse large B-cell lymphoma

Acalabrutinib with immunochemotherapy is in clinical development for patients with previously untreated non-germinal centre B-cell (non-GCB) diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). DLBCL is a cancer of the lymphatic system and a common type of fast-growing non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. It primarily affects men and involves fast and uncontrolled cell division that affects the body’s infection-fighting cells. Non-GCB DLBCL patients make up about 70% of DLBCL patients. A combination of chemotherapy drugs is the current standard of care for non-GCB DLBCL, however patients with this subtype have been associated with worse outcomes than those with GCB DLBCL.
