Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) presents a growing threat to global health, driven by the overuse of antibiotics and the lack of novel diagnostic tools for early detection and prevention. AMR-related technologies, particularly in diagnostics, are becoming increasingly vital for managing infections across clinical pathways such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, sepsis, and surgical site infections. However, the development and integration of these technologies face challenges, including limited commercial involvement and reliance on non-commercial funding. Using data from our horizon scanning reports conducted between 2021 and 2024, this report reviews the latest developments in AMR technologies, highlighting key trends and identifying gaps where further innovation is needed.
