A Horizon Scan of Emerging Generative AI-Enabled Technologies for use in Healthcare.

This horizon scan identified 161 novel generative-AI based technologies being developed for clinical applications. These technologies encompass a wide range of innovations, including mental health chatbots, virtual assistants, and image analysis tools.

This report presents the results from a horizon scan undertaken in October 2024 to identify generative-AI (GenAI) based technologies currently in development and provide an overview of the GenAI landscape. This report provides an in-depth analysis of the type of technologies being developed, type of content generated, main disease areas in development, and the readiness levels of technologies.
