Patient, Public, and Community Involvement and Engagement in Horizon Scanning: A Scoping Review (Executive Summary)

The review identified and synthesised 21 examples of PPCIE in horizon-scanning activities across a range of topic areas, including emerging medicines, medical devices, digital health technologies, future treatments and healthcare services. It explored how people were involved, the influence they had, and the barriers and enablers to meaningful involvement, highlighting opportunities to strengthen public involvement in future horizon-scanning practice.
