Dr Gill Norman is a Principal Research Associate in Medicines and Evidence Synthesis. She leads the team which delivers early awareness for NICE, using proactive horizon scanning, active monitoring and automation to provide timely technology appraisal intelligence.
Gill has over 20 years experience in evidence synthesis with particular expertise in the rapid methods for synthesis of sparse and heterogenous evidence that are used to inform horizon scanning in the imminent horizon. She leads work on developing methods for appraisal of evidence certainty within horizon scanning and work on using horizon scanning to identify equity implications of technologies and to identify emerging research methods.
She has expertise across a wide range of evidence synthesis approaches and was previously an editor and methodologist with Cochrane. She has published over 60 evidence syntheses and methodology papers. She has a PhD in Psychology from Durham University and an MSc and BA from the University of Oxford.
